While first marriages started out with high hopes and dreams, those things fizzled out as life went on. Many first “Mr. Wonderful” husbands and partners started out with big dreams, over time they became full of condescention, nasty words and actions, infidelity, boredom, lack of connections, and just plain growing apart from one another.

Most women interviewed gave it their best, they said, but their partners were not interested in saving their relationships. All “Mr.Wonderful” partners said an emphatic “no” to counseling, therapy, renewal of vows, or second honeymoons. Many of these men simply wanted to do their “thing” alone, or so it seemed, were not interested in saving their relationships or had moved on already to “find themselves,” often with another woman. While all women were deeply hurt, they held out hope that a true “Mr. Wonderful” was out there and lo and behold, they found him.
