Feisty Female Friday: Scarlett Johansson

The FFF this week is Scarlett Johansson.

Scarlett is an American actress who began her career as a child actress and later starred in a wide variety of films. She was raised in NYCity and developed an interest in acting at a young age, auditioning for and appearing in commercials at the age of seven. She enrolled at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute and later attended the Professional Children’s School in NY.

Scarlett made her film debut in North, Just Cause, Manny & Lo, and The Horse Whisperer. More roles followed in Lost in Translation, Girl with a Pearl Earring, and Vicky Cristina Barcelona. Soon she also appeared in The Island, The Other Boleyn Girl, He’s Just Not That into You, and We Bought a Zoo. Scarlett has continued with roles in Iron Man 2, The Avengers series, Captain America, Hitchcock, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, JoJo Rabbit, Don Jon, Lucy, Fly Me to the Moon, and Jurassic World Rebirth. Scarlett, also a singer, has lent her voice to characters in The Jungle Book, Sing, Isle of Dogs, and has recorded many song covers and albums.

She serves as an Oxfam and Broadway Cares/AIDS ambassador, supports Soles4Soles, The Outset, USA Harvest, AHA, SolarAid, Feeding America, Music Rising, World Vision, and many cancer research projects.

Scarlett is best known for her versatility as an actress, was voted the most beautiful woman of all time in Hollywood, has won a Tony, BAFTA, Time 100, Honorary Cesar, Theater World, MTV, People’s Choice, Legend and Groundbreaker Awards, and has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

She is married to actor Colin Jost, has a son, and lives in LA and NY
