Feisty Female Friday: Christina Koch
The FFF this week is Christina Koch.

Christina is an US NASA astronaut, electrical engineer, and record-holder for the longest single space flight by a woman. She has flown to the ISS, participated in the first all-female spacewalks, and was a mission specialist for the most recent Artemis II lunar mission.
Christina was born in MI, raised in NC, and attended many Space Camps. She earned degrees in electrical engineering and physics and worked as an electrical engineer at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center and at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory. Christina spent over a year as a research associate in Antarctica and was selected as a NASA astronaut and Launched to the International Space Station (ISS) for Expeditions 59, 60, and 61.
She broke the record for the longest single spaceflight by a woman and participated in the first three all-female spacewalks, served on the recent Artemis mission flight, and will serve as a mission specialist for the upcoming Artemis II mission, the first woman to travel to deep space.
Christina has been awarded the NASA Group Achievement Award and the US Congress Antarctic Service Medal. She volunteers for Habitat for Humanity, Engineers Without Borders, and enjoys rock and ice climbing, photography, backpacking, competes in triathlons, surfing, and practices yoga daily.
She lives in TX with her husband and dog and is an avid Philadelphia sports teams fan.
