I recently attended a youth sports game and was appalled at the bad behavior of parents. Some people were cruel to their own children. Any suggestions?

Dear Sport Fan in Scranton,

Some parents are really clueless. This is only a game and not the Olympics. I try to cheer on my team and offer positive comments to the opposing team children as well. The children are learning, people, so just offer positive feedback. Enjoy the game people and as I told my students, “be nice or leave.” The referees should remove the nasty parents more often and the comments would stop. Enjoy the game everyone, but always be kind.
