Feisty Female Friday: Gloria Allred
The FFF this week is Gloria Allred.

Gloria is a US attorney known for her high-profile women’s cases defenses.
She was born in PA, attended college to become a teacher, and became interested in the civil rights movement. Gloria moved to LA and worked for the LATA. During a vacation in Mexico, she was raped at gunpoint and soon discovered she was pregnant. Gloria had a back-alley abortion which resulted her being hospitalized with complications. She never reported the rape but this incident influenced her future work with women.
Gloria graduated from law school, was admitted to the CA State Bar, and founded her own law firm. The firm began by representing child safety, transgender rights, and same-sex marriage cases. In her legal career spanning five decades, she has also represented a wide variety of female clients in suits involving sexual harassment, abuse, discrimination, women's rights, wrongful termination, and birth control access.
She co-hosted a radio talk show in LA and was parodied on the animated TV shows Family Guy, The Simpsons, and in South Park. Gloria also appeared in the courtroom television show, We the People with Gloria Allred and on the reality show RuPaul's Drag Race. She has been a member of the advisory board of Women's Day-USA, is an author, and a National Women’s Hall of Fame inductee. Gloria founded and is currently president of the Women's Equal Rights Legal Defense and Education Fund (WERDLEF) and supports many women’s rights, LCBTQ+ rights, Angels in Waiting, and Free Arts for Abused Children Program.
Her next case will involve the women who were sexually assaulted as children by Epstein, Maxwell, and others. She and two Congress members will advocate in September for the fair, just, and long overdue treatment of these now women.
Gloria was married, has a daughter, and lives in CA.
